At Zuhd Academy, we offer a wide range of courses, including Quranic studies, Hadith studies, Islamic history, Islamic jurisprudence, and much more. Our courses are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors who have dedicated their lives to the study and practice of Islam.
OUR FOUNDERS
Ustadh Saad Al-Hashmi
Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Pursued Islamic studies primarily in the UAE and Jordan, learning under esteemed scholars such as Dr. Sheikh Musa Furber, specialising in Hanbali Fiqh. Studied with Syrian scholars in the UAE through the Taibah Foundation and UAE Awqaf, as well as other notable ulema across various sciences of the deen.
Alongside his pursuit of sacred knowledge, Ustadh Saad is an entrepreneur running multiple businesses. He co-founded Zuhd Guidance and Zuhd Store with the vision to benefit the community, support Islamic education, and strengthen the ummah’s connection to knowledge. He plays a key role in establishing the Maktab at Point Cook and has been instrumental in bringing leading scholars from around the world to Australia, fostering learning, unity, and inspiration.

Dr. Sami Al-Hashmi
Born in Vienna, Austria. Earned a Master’s in Dental Surgery from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Received a full academic scholarship for his studies. Participated in community dental programs and outreach initiatives.
Blended clinical training with public health service. While practicing dentistry, pursued Islamic Studies at WISE University in Jordan. Balanced medical expertise with spiritual education. Bridges science and faith through a compassionate, holistic approach.
